A foot of fine is the record of an agreement that resolved a dispute, real or pretend, commonly about the ownership of land. Collected from six and a half centuries of Final Concords regarding the transfer or settlement of real property in England. With reference to the reigns of Edward III, Richard II, Henry IV, and Henry V. With volume nine being a general index of the work. On the blank verso of a preprinted reservation card for a 11 September 1962 meeting of the Civil War Round Table of New York (which Fowler signs in black ballpoint), he writes to noted Lincoln/Civil War scholar Arnold F. Gates (1914-93), long-time CWRT officer, about various Round Table matters. Signed simply "Bob" in red ballpoint. Fowler (1926-2002) was a Civil War historian and author of the novel "Jim Mundy: A Novel of the American Civil War. .
